Projects
Here
is a list of federally funded biotech projects at the University
of Illinois.
Research Projects
Cattle
EST Project
Harris Lewin PI, initiated the Cattle EST Project to provide a resource
for comparative gene mapping, for evolutionary analysis of genes
and gene families and for functional genomics. This work was supported
in part by grants from the USDA/NRI.
Coral
Research
The Coral Research project, funded by the Office of Naval Research,
examines microbiological and environmental influences on coral black
band disease.
Honeybee
EST Project
The Honeybee EST Project was funded by the University of Illinois
Critical Research Initiatives Fund and a Burroughs-Wellcome Trust
Innovation Award in Functional Genomics, and Gene Robinson is the
PI.
NSF
Soybean Functional Genomics Project Protocol Table of Contents
A NSF funding project led by Lila Vodkin from the University of
Illinois.
StratSoy
Home Page
The StratSoy project was funded in part by the United Soybean Board,
and its purpose was to compile and digest all the information the
vast amount of information related to soybean production and the
soybean industry.
Theoretical
Biophysics Group
This group is a NIH resource for macromolecular modeling and bioinformatics.
It was founded by Klaus Schulten in 1989, and is housed in Beckman
Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Some
of their activities concentrate on the structure and function of
supramolecular systems in the living cell, on the development of
new algorithms and on efficient computing tools for structural biology.
